"Franciscan Lakeside Lodge, Tahoe Vista, CA - I chanced upon the Franciscan Lakeside Lodge.
I was in Reno for business. I was held over
Labor Day 2005 due to airline scheduling
conflicts so decided to go to Lake Tahoe.
The weather was beautiful and I had had
enough gambling so wanted to be on the CA
side of the lake. I called Franciscan, which
had some openings and was delighted that the
hotel clerk agreed to take an offer that was
lower than their pubished price. Although,
Franciscan has lakeside accomadations, I
saved money by walking across the street and
taking a clean,cozy studio. I had a fully
equipped kitchenette, front porch, grill and
picnic table. My son and I rented bikes and
rode a trail into the mountains. We rented
kayaks and paddled all afternoon on the lake.
I spent one sunny afternoon reading on the
beautiful beach. We were w/in walking
distance of shops and restaurants. I can't
wait to get back there. And, I will stay at
the Franciscan Lakeside Lodge. "
