"The Raffaello Hotel, Chicago IL - Amazing Stay. Great Location, one block next to Michigan Ave and close to lake Michigan. Great local restaurants and I believe they have a restaurant in the works. The rooms were beautifully designed! LCD TV's and rain shower heads. Staff was super friendly and helpful on my first visit to Chicago! Concierge was awesome. Highly recommend this hidden gem in Chicago. A must stay."

"Hotel Raffaello in Chicago - Horrible experience.
I spent St. Patricks Day weekend at this "hotel". It was not a good experience at all. First of they have 2 small elevators that service the entire hotel. So I would have to end up waiting 10 minutes every time i went up and down from my room. Not fun. I felt like a was waiting in line for the bathroom at a sports arena every time. so frustrating.
The room we got was very small and kind of dirty. The outside of the hotel looks nice so I was expecting something comparable. Not to be. There was mold in the shower, and 1 roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. don't normal hotels clean their rooms beforehand and supply an excess of toiletries.
The location of the hotel was fine. But the overall experience was far below average. To top it off, they charged me an extra night's stay for a so-called "clean-up" fee. I was in the room only to sleep. i made no mess. perhaps it was the mess that was there in the room when I arrived. regardless, they were rather obstinate in taking away the charge, and we had to work out some sort of deal after weeks haggling on the phone, I just gave up with them.
This hotel is honestly complete crapola."
